Dr. Math Trafton to serve as Interim UAS Sitka Campus Director

Dr. Math Trafton will serve as Interim Director at the Sitka campus of the University of ÎçÒ¹AV Southeast (UAS) once the post is vacated by Leslie Gordon. Dr. Trafton will begin his interim position December 8, 2019, and the search for a permanent director of the Sitka campus will begin in January 2020.

Leslie Gordon, Sitka Campus Director for the University of ÎçÒ¹AV Southeast (UAS) will be leaving her position in early December. She has accepted a position with the Southeast Regional Health Consortium in Sitka as the Director of Performance Improvement.

John Ingman of UAS Sitka honored with $7.5k Rasmuson Foundation Individual Artist Project Award

Steve Patin to lead Human Resources at the University of ÎçÒ¹AV

University of ÎçÒ¹AV President Jim Johnsen announced today that Steven J. Patin has been named Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) for the university and will assume his new position on Oct. 25. Patin, who succeeds Keli Hite-McGee, currently is vice president at ÎçÒ¹AV Communications overseeing all aspects of the company's customer service functions. He leads the field operations, information technology, and the corporate program management teams.

Peter Stortz named to 4-H Hall of Fame

Retired Palmer 4-H agent Peter Stortz will be inducted into the National 4-H Hall of Fame on Oct. 11, becoming the sixth ÎçÒ¹AVn to receive that honor. The Hall of Fame recognizes 4-H volunteers, Cooperative Extension Service professionals, staff and others who made a significant impact on the 4-H youth program at the local, state or national level.
